Who We Are
Our staff members are dedicated professionals that show a commitment to our program. All of our staff members are First Aide and CPR certified and obtain a minimum of 18 hours of training each year through programs such as The Chattanooga Area Association for the Education of Your Children (CAAEYC), National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), Tennessee Child Care Resources & Referral Network (TN-CCRR), Children's Advocacy Center, and other outside sources along with regular planning meetings.

Keyia is starting her 5th year at the Academy, and returns to our all-day 4yr old program. Keyia has worked with children 5 years prior to coming to Abba's House Academy. Keyia loves working in a Christian environment and calls Abba's House her church home. What she loves most about her room is the engaging children she has every year, and the fact that they are free to express themselves through art and other activities.
Donna is starting her 11th year at the Academy, and returns to our all-day 2yr old program. Donna has 18 years of experience prior to coming to Abba's House Academy. She has taught Awana, Sunday School, and was a Mothers Day Out teacher at St. Luke and St. Marks. She says 2yr olds are her favorite age, because she likes to watch her children grow daily.
Martina is starting her 2nd year at the Academy, and returns to our all-day 2yr old program. Prior to coming to Abba's House Academy Martina taught Kindergarten age children for 3 years through the Good News Club. She enjoys teaching at Abba's House, because of the Christian atmosphere.
Callie is one of the newest members of our team. She is in her first year at the Academy and is working in the all-day 2yr old room. She has worked with children 2 years prior to coming here and has 2 children of her own. ( 3yr old and a 9 month old) She loves watching each child grow in their own unique way. She loves Abba's House Academy, because of the atmosphere and how friendly everyone is.
Karen is starting her 19th year at the Academy, with 20 plus years of prior experience. She is returning to our Prek-5 room. She has her Associates of Science degree from Cuesta College, Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from New Mexico State University, and has two children of her own. With a Kindergarten based curriculum; she wants her students to become confident, independent thinkers, and for them to know how special they are.
Glenda is starting her 16th year, and is returning to our half day 4yr old room. She has worked with children for over 30 years. She has her Associates degree in Computer Information Systems, and has taught Mothers Day out and over 25 years in VBS. Glenda has 3 children, and 2 grandchildren. All three of her children and one grandchild has gone through our program and she says it set a positive stage for their future.
Janice (Jan) Hedges
Jan is starting her 8th year, and is returning to our all-day 3yr old room. She has worked with children for 13 years. Jan is very active and loves to be very involved with the children. Her favorite thing is to get on the floor and play with the children, and to read to them.
Frances is starting her 10th year at the Academy, and will be returning to our all-day 3 year old room. She has worked with children for over 38 years. She attended Chattanooga State for early childhood education, and has taught Sunday School. Francis has two children and one grandchild. Frances says the thing she loves most about her class is they have "FUN".
Kaye joined our team in May 2016, and will be teaching the Pre-K 3 class. She has over 20 years of experience with children. She graduated ETSU with her Associates Degree, and has worked with Special needs children in the school system for 6 years. In her class she encourages the freedom to explore all areas and encourages independence.
Meghan is starting her 2nd year at the academy, and will be returning to our all-day 4 year old room. She has worked with children for over 8 years and has a child of her own. Meghan is a graduate of Bryan College with her degree in Theater. She likes to have fun and wants learning in her class to be fun.
