I love the scripture in Psalm 42. We sing the song (My Soul Longs for You) in our church services. This song was written from this scripture. The second verse says, “Nothing else will do.” Oh Lord God, I pray that the cry of your church would be a cry of nothing else will do but being in Your presence. I mean, as a deer pants for water, my soul pants for you. The scripture says, “My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.”
   
What is your soul panting for today? What is your soul longing for today? Is it panting for the pleasures of the world? Is it longing for things that moth and rust does corrupt? If so, today is the day for you to remember the goodness of our God. Remember Him from the sanctuary. Remember Him in the multitude of praise and worship. Remember Him in a place of solitude when it was just you and Him and no distractions around you. If your soul is cast down today and you are in a place of emptiness, remember your great and mighty God Who is willing to reach down in the belly of your distress and pull you out of the miry clay and set your feet on solid ground. I love the words “Deep call unto Deep.” Remember when you were in prayer for hours, reading your word and receiving revelation knowledge from the Living Word of God.
   
God has not forgotten you! He is here waiting on you right now to call upon His name and begin the restoring of your soul. No matter what you have done, no matter what you have gone through, no matter what the accuser has said about you, He is a righteous judge and He stands between Heaven and earth on your behalf. If you’re cast down, GET UP! Hope in God. Praise Him, and watch your countenance change in the presence of your God.
